“What is International Higher Education?”

International Higher Education is a quarterly publication that publishes insightful, informed, and high-quality commentary and analysis on trends and issues of importance to higher education systems, institutions, and stakeholders around the world. IHE covers an extensive array of topics and is interested in all geographic regions. The online version of the journal is available freely. You can find issues 1–99 on Boston College's website, all newer issues can be found here. The printed version can be ordered at DUZ Academic Publishers' web shop.

“What do I have to do to obtain the free electronic version of the publication?”

You can simply download the publication or subscribe to our newsletter. In order to subscribe, go to this page, enter your email address and click on the button "Send". If you subscribe to our free newsletter, you will receive an email with a confirmation link. Please open your post box and confirm your subscription by clicking the link. This registration will result in the reader receiving the table of contents and a link to the publication by email for each new issue of the journal International Higher Education.

“Why should I subscribe to the newsletter if the whole issue is freely available on the website?”

If you subscribe to our newsletter, you will be notified automatically and immediately after a new issue has been published. Furthermore, you will receive relevant news from the Center for International Higher Education, Boston College (the publication’s editor) about the latest developments in the field of internationalization of higher education.

“Is the online version of the publication freely available?”

Yes. International Higher Education is a journal that provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

“What do I have to do to obtain the printed version of the publication?”

You can order the printed version of the publication via Please enable Javascript or via our webshop. The publication is exclusively available on a subscription basis. Please check the "Subscription and Ordering" section for details. In the course of an annual subscription period, you will receive four issues. You may cancel the subscription by giving notice in writing no later than six weeks before the end of the subscription year.

“How do I pay for the printed version?”

Ordered products and invoices will be sent directly to your address. After that, you can transfer the money. If you order via our webshop you can also pay per PayPal or credit card.

“How do I cancel the subscription of the printed version?”

You may cancel the subscription by giving notice in writing no later than six weeks before the end of the subscription year per email.
